POWERING the FUTURE.
PROTECTING YOURS.

Local farms contribute to Rhode Island’s economy
and its unique culture. We’re committed to helping local farmers thrive. Let us show you how.

Make Your Land Work For You.

We collaborate with farmers and other landowners to find the best use for undeveloped land, ensuring a more secure future for you and for Rhode Island. If you believe that your only viable option is to sell a portion of your land for development, please contact us first. When you lease a portion of your land to us, you’ll receive an annual income, while keeping your land and farming in the family. While not all sites are ideally-suited to hosting renewable energy projects, we look forward to meeting you to discuss the details!

SIMPLE STEPS. POWERFUL RESULTS.

STEP 1

Site Identification

It  all starts with a meeting. A Green Development representative will sit down with the landowners to discuss their history with the land, personals goals, and any concerns.

STEP 2

Site Evaluation

We’ll visit the property to locate property lines, complete desktop site plans, and check for any property characteristics that would prohibit the equipment. After assessment, we present a lease statement to the landowner.

STEP 3

Municipal & Utility Approval

We’ll begin our third party diligence process, including filing a utility interconnection application and RIDEM permitting, and meeting with the town to begin the local permitting process.

STEP 4

Power Purchaser Determination

Once the project is viable, we’ll determine whether the project should sell outright, enter into a power repurchasing agreement with a municipal or state entity, or be enrolled in the Renewable Energy Growth Program.

STEP 5

Construction

Equipment will be ordered and the interconnection plan will be finalized. Construction will begin, with the Green Development team overseeing each step to ensure that best practices are followed.

STEP 6

Generation of Renewable Energy

We’ll turn on the equipment and it will produce clean, renewable energy for the life of the project.
