Wind Energy Development LLC is celebrating the successful development of Rhode Island’s first residential wind turbine at the “Wind in Our Own Backyard Showcase.” Guests will tour the turbine and have the opportunity to learn about commercial 1.5 MW wind turbine siting, meet its neighbors, and provides different educational stations throughout the night. There will also be an unveiling of plans for WED’s intention to deliver 90 to 150 MW of renewable energy to the State of Rhode Island by 2020 and the unveiling of a renewable energy Educational Center, to be opened in Coventry in 2016!
